I knew Michael from Bay Ridge. He had a successful retail sneaker outlet on 5th Ave. up the street from my grandmother's home. We both served in Marine Corps but he was a grunt who served in Vietnam while I was stateside. Mike was the best, most generous guy. Will never forget him.

I met my husband Michael at the Brooklyn VA. We became best friends. On New Years Eve 1992 he proposed to me and I immediately said yes. We were married on June 18th, 1993. We moved to Toms River New Jersey with my twin girls and begin our new life together. We shared many wonderful memories. I will forever miss my best friend, my love and all his being.
May he rest in peace knowing how much he was loved by his family. He will live forever in our hearts.

Michael was my best friend from 4 years old. He never forgot my birthday & would call me every year. I loved him & he loved me we were very close friends. We would talk forever about old times, Bay Ridge & childhood memories. He always made me laugh & would remember things i long forgot! I will miss him & our talks forever.....

Michael was my best friend from childhood & we lasted all through life. He called me every year on my birthday, April 2nd & I called him every year on his birthday, April 7th. We were friends from the time I moved next door to him, through 8 years of grammar school & Ft Hamilton HS right through Viet Nam. I would write to him & I aways got letters back. I will never forget him; I miss him so much already. Thank God he is finally at peace.

I met with Veteran Mr. West couple times at the Brick clinic. He was always nice and respectful with us. Please accept my condolences. Praying for Mrs. West and the family. Michael was a US Marine rifleman who proudly served our country in Vietnam. He owned KMP sneaker outlet in Bay Ridge Brooklyn and was a generous and loyal friend. Very fond memories of a fun loving and caring friend. Semper Fidelis Mike!

Michael was my very special friend for almost 70 years.
We met when I moved next door to him at 3 years old! We bonded right away & really grew up together, attending the same schools & in the same class for 8 years. Then went to the same high school. I followed him his whole life, writing to him in Viet Nam & keeping track of him. We both never forgot the other, always remaining close friends. He never forgot my birthday & on every April 2nd I would get a phone call from him saying a very happy birthday & always and I love you. Michael was a very loyal, kind & loving friend. I have very fond memories of him & we always laughed & reminisced stories about our youth he remembered so much & would always make me laugh. We had a special connection which I will never forget. I loved him & his funny personality & his devotion to our friendship of so many years. I will miss you, Michael for the rest of my days. I don't know what I will do without our phone calls & without hearing your voice anymore. Sweet dreams my old friend, I miss you & love you! I will always pray for you & never forget.

I have so many memories of my Pop. Good, bad, happy and sad….we shared a lot of life’s ups and downs as a family. The most wonderful part is that if I needed help, he was there to provide love and support. He was generous and kind to the ones he loved the most. He was so funny and also had his grumpy mood's….either way he was genuine. I miss him now and always will. I’m glad he is resting at peace now and joined the others we miss in heaven.

Pop was larger than life! He was who he was and didn’t make any excuses. Like the song says, “I did it my way.” He was tough and strong, proud of what he did to protect his family and his Country! He was the best dad and always had our back. His love, generosity and dedication to his family I will hold onto forever. He helped me to understand that life was hard, that sometimes bad things will happen, but that family will always be there when we need them the most! I will treasure all the memories and the love that we had! Rest in peace and until we meet again!
