Robert Dean Farr, 75, of Jackson, New Jersey passed away peacefully at home on October 9, 2024 with his family by his side. He was born on August 6, 1949, in Portage, Wisconsin. Robert enlisted in the United States Army serving for 6 years including tours in Korea and in Vietnam, achieving the rank of SGT E-5 before receiving an honorable discharge. He worked on the railroad for Naval Weapons Station Earle in Colts Neck, New Jersey as a munitions transport specialist and then at Centra State Hospital in Freehold, New Jersey where he worked in central supply before retiring. Robert was loved by many and always willing to help out a friend in need. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, enjoyed going to Atlantic City, spending time with his family, doing his crossword puzzles, and hanging out with his friends at the Lakehurst, New Jersey VFW Post 10061. He was predeceased by his parents Clifford and Marjorie, and his sisters Betty Weldon and Barbara Lunsford and his beloved cats Patches and Dink. Robert is survived by his loving wife Nina, daughter Tina Pond and her husband Paul of Jackson, New Jersey, two grandchildren Justin Pond and Garrett Pond both of Jackson, New Jersey, his brother Thomas and his wife Faye of Greybull Wyoming, his sister Sandra Cook of Baraboo, Wisconsin, his sisters Marylou Hyatt and Susan Frankland of Dane, Wisconsin, his brother John (Jack) and his wife Debbie of Elkhorn, Nebraska and his brother William of Chetek, Wisconsin and many nieces and nephews. His final resting place will be at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 350 Provinceline Rd. in Wrightstown, NJ 08562 on 10/25/2024 at 9:30am. Friends are invited to join the family for a small chapel service at the cemetery prior to his internment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the VFW Post 10061 at 20 Union Avenue Lakehurst, New Jersey 08733. Immediately following the chapel service friends are invited to join the family at the Lakehurst VFW listed above for a repass.
