I just learned of Gene's passing as I am sitting in his old office at Englert. I am devastated by the news and I offer my deepest condolences to the entire family. Gene was a work associate but he became a treasured friend. May God bless you all. Art

One of the funniest things I ever heard Gene say was during our last visit with you both. We were gathering on the porch overlooking the river and I was commenting on the food and beautiful decorated table and Gene said he had become very domesticated since retirement. Such a funny comment from such a manly man! We loved Gene and looked up to him. You both were very instrumental in our lives as a young couple and became the mentors God knew we needed in our lives. I was amazed how we connected despite the age difference, but soon learned that age does not matter when we are bonded together in Christ. Gene and I worked together for many years to accomplish the hunting knowledge and goals he had set for himself. He was always looking to gain more skill and knowledge with his meticulously cared for Archery equipment and took lessons from me. The big smile and laughter when He mastered a new skill. I'll always fondly remember this genuinely good man.

Gene and I were co workers for many years and became good friends. We lived in the same town and went fishing together many times. I will never forget Gene was the first person to approach me after the death of my son. While I was home devastated at my loss Gene called me one day to go fishing with him which was the first step in the healing process . He thought enough of me to reach out to help, truly the caring loving person that I was fortunate to have him touch my life. We remained in contact till the present. God be with you Linda, you were a special couple❤️
