Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Margaret C. McGrogan, also known as Peggy, peacefully passed away on September 14, 2023, surrounded by her family, in Barnegat, NJ, at the age of 78. She was born on January 30, 1945, in Paterson, NJ, to Daniel McGrogan and Margaret Morrison McGrogan. Peggy was preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother, Daniel McGrogan Jr. Peggy was a devoted and selfless individual, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she touched the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She had a passion for reading, and she enjoyed camping and vacationing with her loved ones. After graduating from John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson, NJ, Peggy pursued a career in nursing. From 1965 to 2015, she worked as an LPN, initially as a private duty nurse and later in nursing homes. She found fulfillment in caring for geriatric patients and took pride in the relationships she built with them over the years. Peggy worshiped at St. Francis on LBI and St. Mary's in Barnegat. In her free time, Peggy indulged in her hobbies, which included reading, watching her favorite shows repeatedly, and camping. These activities brought her joy and allowed her to unwind. There will not be any services at this time to honor Peggy's life. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, a cause that was close to her heart. The compassionate professionals at Ocean County Cremation Services in Forked River, NJ, are assisting the family with the arrangements during this difficult time. Peggy is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Ken DiPalo, her son Thomas J. Wright, her daughter Colleen Marzano, her grandson John Marzano, and her granddaughter Ashley Whatton. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, whose lives were enriched by her presence.
