Please share a memory of Jacob to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jacob C. Lokker Jr. Born in Paterson, NJ on May 30,1944. Married Helen Szwartz on March 18,
1967. His primary education was in the East Paterson (Elmwood Park) school system where he
was born and raised. He was also a graduate of the Bergen County Technical School with a
certificate in Commercial Baking
Jacob passed away peacefully with his children beside him on Wednesday September
6, 2023. He is survived by his two children Michael P Lokker and Christine Konish, his
son-in-law Peter Konish and 2 beautiful granddaughters Kaylie Konish and Courtney
Konish.
Passed: his wife Helen Lokker, son Thomas Joseph Lokker, parents Jacob and Helen
Lokker and Brother Anthony Paul Lokker
Jacob was head custodian and warehouse manager at the Ocean County Technical
schools Toms River Center for 27 years. To his colleagues he was the go to person, if
you wanted a job done and done right you went to “Dr. Jake” and knew it would be done
the way it was requested. Along his career he was also a tireless volunteer with the
Brick Youth Soccer Club.
He was a loving Son, Brother, Husband, Father, and Poppy. He was the light of
everyone’s eye and is loved by so many near and far. Jacob was a man made of steel,
a true iron man that won numerous battles with cancer as well as dealing with COPD.
He showed us all the true meaning of resilience. There wouldn't be a day that Jacob
would go without eating his peanut M & M’s or eat an entire bag of potato chips in one
sitting. As he would say, “you can’t just eat one so you might as well eat the entire bag.”
Of course there are many memories that we have of our Dad but the one that we
ALWAYS talk about; is when “someone” just “left” a puppy on the loading dock at his job
and all of a sudden our family had a new puppy that he brought home.
