Barry J. Van Lenten, Sr. Bayville, NJ Barry J. VanLenten, Sr 72, of Bayville, NJ passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2023 on Angelic Hospice care at home.. He died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. Born in Patterson, NJ. He graduated from West Milford High School and served in the Army in Vietnam after graduating in 1968. He was retired from his own company, “Barry The Painter” after many years of painting and wall papering. Predeceased by his parents William and Irene Van Lenten, VA; brother Kenneth (Carol) Van Lenten, NJ; and sister, June Van Lenten, NJ. Barry was a beloved husband to Maryann (nee Ridgeway) 26 ½ years, Loving Stepdad to Lisa ( ex Todd) granddaughter, Autumn and grandson, Connor, NC; Suzanne and Amy Jackson, NJ Dear brother to William Roy, NJ; Raymond (Judy), VA; Robert (Sue), NJ. Sisters April (Dennis) Merkle, VA; May (Greg) Butz, VA; Pauline (Steve) Lebanec, NC; and Cozy (Jeff) Huson, NJ. Loving father to Karen Spence (Ron) granddaughters Jessie Petty, MO Ashley Orourke, MO and Erica Davis, KS. Great granddaughters: Dalyce, Zoie, Layla.; Great grandsons: Zayne & Ronaldo; (Barry) Jay Van Lenten, Jr. (Stacie) Grand Daughters: Kaitlym, Kelsey Grandson: Keith, AJ and Austin; Great Grandson, Mason; and Eric Grates (Teresa). A private cremation was arranged by Ocean County Cremation Service, 206 Lacey Road, Forked River, NJ. A Memorial Service for Family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. At the Faith Community United Methodist Church outside in the Pole Barn to the left of the church building, 526 US Rt. 9, Bayville, NJ 08721. Repast will follow outdoor service in the church hall. In lieu of flowers donations in his name to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or any other cancer research of your choice.
