Sending my most heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. ...
I wish you nothing but comfort and strength.
I did not know your father, but your mother was my instructor at OCC. She was an amazing human being and teacher. She talked about your father and her grandchildren all the time. She loved him dearly. I will miss her so much. She made a huge impact on me. I will never forget her. She will always be in my heart. Josie Vega

To the family of John and Marilyn, first and foremost, I extend and offer my deepest sympathy to each and every one of you. I had the honor and privilege of being a student of Marilyn’s last Spring. She had the most kindest soul and her support for each and every one of us was deep felt and sincere. I looked forward to seeing her every single day. She lovingly spoke about her family who she absolutely adored. She was so proud of her boys, the daughters she gained and her grandchildren who she could never get enough of. I can only say what a loss you all must feel right now. I am heartbroken to hear of her passing and to hear of the passing of John who was so much apart of her spirit. I pray that you all find comfort in memories and knowing that they both are together watching over all of you.

Dear Jonathan, Jim, Jeff, Allison, Jennifer and Danielle,
Sending my thoughts and prayers to the Knight family. I am so sorry for the loss of both your mother and father.
I reconnected with your mom, here at Ocean County College. We often stopped and talked about you and your families.
Your mom was so proud of her beautiful family. We would share some "Donovan" stories ....basketball..etc and then she would beam as she spoke of all of you and your children.
Your parents were amazing!!!
God bless you all,
Sue Gill and family (Mrs. Gill..I was the school nurse at Donovan while you were there)

I met Marilyn first as her student at Ocean County College enrolled in the Medical Billing &Coding Specialist program. She offered myself and all her students a classroom filled with encouragement and opportunity to begin a new career. She nurtured her students much as she did her own family, and for that many are grateful. I also witnessed the true and real love your parents had for one another as I worked along side them later on. You were truly blessed with beautiful parents. I hope the memories you've shared will help heal your hearts.

I've worked with Marilyn at Ocean County College for many years. Marilyn was a lovely person who touched the lives of many students through the courses she taught at Ocean County College. Students frequently mentioned Marilyn's kindness and her support.

I have known Marilyn since my start here at OCC in the 90s. She was teaching in our CPE department. Her kindness and her way of showing love has always been her personality. Marilyn came to my office one week before her passing and we spoke as if we had not seen each other for months.
She updated me of what has transpired in her life, like I did, and how much she misses him, her husband. Marilyn was and will forever be a gem. It is a true blessing to have met and shared the relationship we had. My daughter got the privileges' of knowing her and of taking care of Marilyn's mother. Each time we seen each other or spoken on the telephone, she never missed to give my daughter her love and remind me how great she treated her mom; the love was also mutual with my daughter. I will definitely miss her; it saddens me what has happened, but I know heaven has indeed gain another angel! RIP my dear colleague and friend! Rosita

I am sorry for this tremendous loss. I had the pleasure to know both John and Marilyn from Ocean County College. Marilyn taught the bulk of my classes in medical coding, where she spoke often of her beautiful family. They will both be missed.

I’m sorry for your loss. Marilyn was so devoted to everything she did. In class, she would tell us about her beautiful family with such pride and as a teacher, she took full responsibility for the success of every student. We had a little party at the end of class to celebrate and I made some coconut milk ice cream. She made me share the recipe so she could make it for her family. Marilyn gave me, an older student, a second chance at my favorite career that was both challenging and rewarding. I’ll always be grateful to her.

Marilyn and John were such a beautiful couple. You just knew how much they loved each other. We are so lucky to have their son Jim as our son-in-law. All three of their sons are handsome, well educated men and they all have beautiful families which stems from how Marilyn and John raised them. Our hearts are breaking for their loss.
