Obituary of Daniel Clayton Jr.

Daniel Clayton Jr., of Lakewood, went home to the Lord on October 26, 2016. He passed after a short stay at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. He was born on December 17, 1940 in Teaneck to Virginia and Daniel Clayton. Dan leaves his loving wife of 48 years Caroline; his son Daniel and his wife Christine Ryan of Underhill Center, VT; his daughter Courtney of Fredericksburg, VA; his daughter Jody Decker and her husband Robert Decker of Allentown, NJ; his son Steven and his wife Kristen Connelly of Morrisville, VT. He is also survived by his sister Linda and her husband Buzz Elkinton, his brother Gary, sister-in-law Elizabeth, and his adoring grandchildren: Timothy, Ryan, Rose, Allison, Bo, and Coral. Dan is predeceased by his mother, Virginia; father, Daniel; and brother, William. A memorial and celebration of his life will be held on December 17, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Church in Lavallette, NJ, where he was an active and devoted member of the community serving on the counsel among many other roles. Dan’s love and personality filled every room he entered and life he touched. He will be missed. There will also be a commemoration of his proud military service as a Marine at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in 2017.
