Obituary of Viola E. Haskett

Viola E. Haskett was born on July 7, 1923, and quietly passed away at home with loved ones at her side on September 5, 2016. Vi (as she was affectionately known) was predeceased by her husband John and is survived by her sister Amelia Nelson (Lawrenceville, NJ) and several nieces and nephews. Vi is also survived by many dear friends who became a major part of her extended family. Vi lived in Columbus, NJ for many years and worked for the Burlington County Board of Elections until she retired and became a permanent resident of Surf City, NJ. While living on Long Beach Island, Vi was active in the Surf City Ladies Auxiliary and also served as a volunteer for over 40 years at Southern Ocean County Hospital. A memorial service celebrating Vi’s life will be held on October 8th at 11 AM at the United Church of Surf City where Vi was an active member. Interment arrangements are private for the family. Donations in Vi’s honor may be made to the Surf City Volunteer Fire Company.
