Obituary of Alice H. Work

Alice H. Work of Manchester, died peacefully on Saturday, August 13, 2016 after a valiant 17 year battle with cancer. She was born on December 19, 1937 in Jersey City, the daughter of Fredrick Engelhardt and Loretta Kahlcke. She lived most of her life in Lakewood, moving to Hillsville, VA in her retirement. She worked for 25 years as a School bus driver for the Lakewood and Toms River School systems. She spent her life living out her faith in the United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son, Richard L. Work, Jr and his wife Lydia, her daughters; Kimberly Tice and her Husband, Jeff; Beth Buonviri and her husband Jay. The joys of her life, her grandchildren, Shaffer and Caleb Work; Nicole Howard (Tice) and her husband Spencer; and her great grandson, Greyson Howard. She is also survived by her twin sister, Loretta Madden and her husband Gary, her brothers Gary Engelhardt and his wife Cyndee and Fred Engelhardt and his wife Donna. She was preceded in death by her brother Robert Engelhardt. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, August 20, 2016 with a visitation from 10-11:00 a.m. and a service of Life and Resurrection following at 11:00 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church in Lakewood, 678 5th Street, Lakewood. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society , Christ United Methodist Church, Lakewood or St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Cherry Hill.
