Obituary of Sharon Brock Elshamy

 

 

Sharon Brock Elshamy of Brick passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on December 3, 2019 at Ocean Medical Center.  Born July 6th 1950 in Charleston, SC where her father, Emerson Brock, was stationed in the US Navy, she and her family lived all over the country while her father was underway, before settling in New Providence, NJ and finally Brick, NJ. 

Sharon worked in multiple jobs throughout her life, and earned a certification in dog grooming in 1990.  She loved her work, her animals, and her customers like they were family. Sharon also enjoyed playing Bingo on her time off and made so many life-long relationships with her fellow players; but devoted most of her time to her family and their activities, including yearly trips to visit family in North Carolina.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, Mohsen (Shamy) Elshamy and Rosie the dog (Brick) Michael Elshamy (Toms River) Jessica Elshamy Katz (Manchester) son in law Jeffrey Katz (Manchester) and her two grandchildren, Nathan and Benjamin Katz.  Her nephews Gary Humiston (Greensboro, NC) and Rick Humiston (Hendersonville, NC) and her great- nieces in North Carolina. As well as so many of her friends and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your local animal shelters.  She cherished animals and rescued multiple animals during her lifetime; including Rosie.
