Obituary of Herbert R. Highfield Jr.

Herbert R. Highfield Jr. BOYNTON BEACH, FL Herbert R. Highfield (Bud), 84, of Boynton Beach, FL, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016. Herb was born in Avalon, NJ, and spent most of his life in Ewing Township, NJ, before moving to the Fairways in Lakewood NJ. Herb is survived by his spouse of 54 years, Gerry; his son, David, and daughter-in-law, Liz Highfield; his daughter, Lisa, and son in-law, John Hiner; his four grandchildren, Grayson, Samantha, Julia and Drew; his in- laws, Laura and Richard Mondoux, Nancy and Tom Buonpane, Ed and Pam DeFilippis, Maria and Joe Roba, and Mario and Mary DeFilippis, in addition to many nieces and nephews. Herb received his BA at Trenton State and MA at Seton Hall University. He worked at Princeton Regional Schools as the chair of the English department and head media specialist for 35 years. Herb was a veteran of the Korean War and served as a radio operator instructor. He was an avid jazz fan, played the sax, loved to read and especially loved to keep us all laughing with his wonderful sense of humor. He will be deeply missed.
