Obituary of Josephine S Plonka

 

Josephine S. Plonka (nee Wielgus), 94, of Aberdeen, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 29, of natural causes.  A mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, January 7, at Our Lady of Fatima Parish (St. Joseph’s Parish) 376 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ.

Josephine leaves behind her daughter, Janis Voo, and husband, Virgil, of Forked River, daughter Debra Plonka, of Aberdeen, NJ, granddaughter, Lila Barocas, and husband, Jeff, of Columbia, SC, granddaughter, Devon Soriano, and husband, John, great granddaughter, Sophia Soriano, and great grandson, Mason Soriano of Chatham, NJ.  Her love and devotion to her family including nieces and nephews and her rescue Chihuahuas Chewy, Baby, and Coco, will always be remembered.

Born in Newark, NJ, to Louis and Elizabeth Wielgus in 1924.  She worked tirelessly for Prudential Insurance Company in Newark, NJ, for nearly 35 years followed by 10 more years at Aramark.  After many years of hard work, Josephine retired in 2000. Since 2004 through October of this year, she gave extensive amounts of time volunteering at Bayshore Community Hospital in both the Rehabilitation Department and Patient Satisfaction Surveys which continued to be a sense of pride and contentment for her having made many cherished friends along the way.
