Obituary of Dewey Comer

Dewey Comer, age 97, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2017.  He was born in West Virginia, resided in Edison, and Lanoka Harbor, NJ. He was in the 17th Army Field Artillery Batalion in WWII. He was a P.O.W. for two years after being captured at Faid Pass, Kasserine Pass, Tunisia in 1943. He retired from Owens Illinois Inc. after many years of service. He enjoyed gardening, and Southern Gospel Music. He belonged to the Edison Senior Stelton Club.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife Mary Louise of 50 plus years of marriage, and special Daughter-In-Law, Diane Comer. Surviving family: son, Dewey Jr., daughter, Brenda Breza, son-in law, William Breza. Grandchildren: Susan Comer of NC, Karen Comer of Brick, NJ, Dawn Flanders of NJ, William Breza Jr. of CA, and great grandchild Nathan Houston of Brick, NJ. He was a gentle soul, and will be missed.

 A celebration of Dewey’s life will be private, and held under the direction of the Ocean County Cremation Service.
