Obituary of Brian Charles Coughlin

Brian Charles Coughlin, 44, of Manchester NJ left us too soon on June 6,2026. He was born in Princeton NJ on December 9,1981. Brian was a National Merit Scholar coming out of Monsignor Donovan High School in Toms River, NJ. Subsequently he studied at Villanova University for 2 years before matriculating to Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland where he graduated with a degree in philosophy. Brian was a gifted athlete playing multiple sports including baseball, basketball and tennis. He enjoyed long walks while listening to current events podcasts and the music of the Gallagher brothers of Oasis fame and the mighty Lumineers. Brian lived and worked in New York City as an assistant to the principals of Reitveld Architects. While there he represented the firm in Manhattan as well as Amsterdam and the Hague , Netherlands. He was a smart, funny, kind, caring and compassionate young man. Brian lived his life with a generosity of spirit. Brian loved to travel and was always ready for another adventure. He taught English for many years at international schools in Thailand and Cambodia. While teaching in Phuket, Thailand he met Andrea (Kika) Ibanez. Years later they would reconnect in Quito, Ecuador. Andrea, a beautiful soul, was his partner in life and in love. Brian is survived by his parents, Fran and Chol, a sister Jessica, brother-in-law Alex, niece Audrey, multiple aunts, uncles, cousins and friends as well as Leah the adventure dog and Andrea (Kika) Ibanez, the absolute love of his life.
