The Natural Way to Say Goodbye

When you lose a loved one you are experiencing a great deal of pain and you are in a stage of shock or disbelief. As your grieving process begins and you are dealing with the emotions and difficulty of letting go, there are different ways to make a goodbye as natural as possible.

Healing alongside family and friends

During the grieving process, it is very normal to feel alone, although, it is important to remember that your family and friends are going through pain and emotions that you can relate to and support each other through. Funeral events bring everyone together and allow everyone to benefit from the togetherness a funeral brings, rather than dealing with the loss of a loved one alone. Being surrounded by this kind of love can allow you to move forward with your grieving process in a healthy, natural way.

Asking for Help to Cope

There is no timeline for the grieving process and everyone takes as much time that is needed for them, personally, to reach a sense of acceptance to the loss of a loved one. As you continue to live your life, you may experience some days that are worse than others and it is natural to reach out for the help you need. You cannot hesitate to ask for help during this trying time. Your family and friends understand the pain you are experiencing and you are not alone. Remember, you can’t do it all alone.

Sharing Stories and the Good Times

Sharing stories of your loved one and reminiscing on the good times with family and friends, is very important and should be done at the funeral ceremony as well as afterward during your grieving process. Reflecting on their life and keeping them alive in your hearts with the stories that represent them as an individual play a very important role during your grieving process. This allows you to realize that your loved one no longer with you while also allowing you release your memories and celebrate their life.

Saying good-bye to a loved one is not easy and is something, us as humans do not want to ever have to do. Remember that you are not alone and you are allowed to feel pain and are entitled to the way you are feeling. As you grow stronger through your grieving process and learn to accept the loss of your loved you will be able to look back on their life and smile when you remember those stories and memories and the impact they had on your life.
