Can I Split Cremated Remains Into More Than One Urn?

Experiencing the death of a loved one can be emotionally taxing and challenging. Members of the family, who are grieving already, are tasked with arranging the funeral or memorial service (in cremation). With great empathy, we at Ocean County Cremation Service acknowledge the hardships our clients are experiencing at this time. As a result, our cremation services are unrivalled in the area.

Can You Split Cremated Remains?

Cremation results in the return of the ashes to the family, who may choose to keep them in urns or scatter them at sea or elsewhere. However, there are cases where family members (like children, siblings, or spouses) choose to keep a small amount of the ashes at their residences as a memorial to the deceased.

Consequently, can this be done? That is possible. These days, many households opt for cremation as a means of disposal due to its positive effects on the natural environment and the bottom line. In addition, many families choose to scatter their loved one's ashes at multiple locations, with the urn remaining at home.

How You Can Memorialize A Loved One With Cremated Remains

Others choose to bury the urn in their garden, while some choose to keep it on display on their mantle. Ashes can also be incorporated into cremation jewelry worn by some. It is becoming more common practice for families to divide up the deceased's ashes and scatter them in different locations so that everyone can pay their respects in their way.

Therefore, even if you plan to entomb or bury the remains of a loved one, you and your loved ones can keep a small portion of the ashes for yourself. To ensure they can accommodate your wishes, discussing them with your cremation service provider in advance is best.
