Can I Still Have A Gathering/Visitation/Service If I Choose Cremation?

Cremation is a relatively new concept. Although many people know what it is, they are not sure about what the process is like. It’s why they avoid opting for it. One notable misconception that many people have about cremation is that if they choose it they can’t have a gathering, visitation, or service.

Families want to conduct at least one of these events when someone they love passes away. We at Ocean County Cremation Service understand this hesitation and the reason for it. Here is some information that will help get rid of this misconception.

Gathering, Visitation, Or A Service When You Choose Cremation

You can conduct either of these services even when you opt for cremation. These are the processes:

  • Sometimes, you need to wait for family members to come in before you cremate your loved one, in this case, you can embalm the body and conduct the visitation once your family comes in.

  • The other option is to organize a service or gathering after cremation. You can select an urn of your choice and keep the ashes in it at the memorial service venue.

This information should help you make an informed decision about whether cremation is the right choice for you. There are also different types of urns to choose from and you can pick one based on whether you want to keep it at home after the service, in a columbarium, or bury it.

Our knowledgeable funeral director will provide you with the information you need regarding cremation, the process to follow and how you can plan the visitation, gathering, or memorial service.

If you have any doubts or queries or need further information, feel free to contact the professionals at Ocean County Cremation Services today. We'll be happy to help with the information and services you need.
