Sending Flowers to the Bereaved

Sending flowers with a letter of condolences is a friendly and meaningful way to express your empathy to a mourning family. Flowers provide warmth, they look gorgeous, and their colors will lift a person's spirit. At Ocean County Cremation Center, we've seen how soothing it can be to have various flowers at a funeral service.

Aspects To Be Kept In Mind When Sending Flowers

However, when you give flowers to someone in mourning, there are certain things to bear in mind, such as:

  • Make sure you deliver and buy new flowers that are in season. Florists are experienced and can help you with the seasonal flowers you can give.

  • Blooms have a short life cycle and can wither and die within a couple of days. If you send a tiny flowering plant, it will stay alive for a good while longer. Some traditional potted flowers you can give as condolences are gardenias, white azaleas & orchids. You should also offer them a booklet with guidance about how to take care of them.

These are an excellent choice since they provide warmth and living memory.

  • Different flowers mean different things, and if you want to show your empathy and compassion, you need to pick the right flowers. Ask the florist for their comments. They will put together a special bouquet for you to send to the bereaved family.

Flowers are a thoughtful way to express your support to those who are mourning the death of a family member. You can also pick flowers to take to the funeral service and there are many different blooms to choose from.

If you want to know more or want to prearrange for a service, contact us at Ocean County Cremation Service today. We'll be happy to help with the information and services you need.
